A newly refurbished historical, hillside apartment (completed in January 2010) and reached along a short, wide cobbled pathway with a slight incline in the typical lake style. It is located in the romantic and prestigious South Western Lake Como village of Carate Urio and offers luxurious and elegant lake view self-catering accommodation!
The property has been expertly decorated and finished throughout and provides spacious and versatile lake view living. An entrance from the ground floor leads guests up a flight of steps to a beautiful open plan living area, featuring an elegantly carved Carrara marble fireplace, wonderful original stone walls and barrel-vaulted ceilings over an antique dining area. There are also many contemporary features such as a wall mounted flat screen Sat TV with DVD player and comfortable leather sofas to relax on.
Steps lead from this unique entertainment room to a very light and well proportioned first floor dining room which leads out onto a fabulous and spacious sunny lake and mountain view terrace with dining area and parasol, providing the most idyllic setting from where you can relax and entertain guests!
The newly fitted kitchen offers guests all the desired appliances for a self-catering holiday including coffee machine, toaster, microwave, kettle and oven and hob making it ideal for preparing both simple breakfasts and impressive dinner parties, which can be enjoyed indoors at the two dining areas or outdoors on the beautiful terrace.
The sleeping areas of the apartment are extremely versatile and accommodate up to 8 guests. There are three large bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. The first bright and spacious double bedroom, features elegant furnishings which include a romantic wrought iron double bed, an antique marble topped dressing table with mirror and a wonderful baroque style wardrobe. Enjoy the wall mounted flat screen SAT TV, safe box and private bathroom.
The en-suite master bedroom is a also good size and provides an antique ‘King Size’ bed which will ensure a very comfortable bed in the Italian matrimonial style. A set of marble topped bedside tables also feature, providing a very pleasing Italian style of living which your guests will very much enjoy! This room is also equipped with a mini-bar, safe box and SAT TV.
The third bedroom features a comfortable double bed and also a set of bunk beds which can be utilised if needed. The bedroom also boasts a mini-bar, safe box, SAT TV, plenty of wardrobe space and en-suite bathroom with shower.
This apartment conveniently features three newly fitted modern bathrooms, the main one of which offers guests a bath tub and separate shower and the second and third bathrooms provides guests with a separate shower in addition to all the desired sanitary ware, all the bathrooms are designed to match the bedrooms.
This apartment also features a private office space with antique desk perfect for guests who need to do a spot of work whilst on the lake. There is an additional laundry room with washing machine and ironing facilities.
A second garage is available for an additional EU70 per week. The first garage is included in the rental price.
From the property you and your guests can enjoy the very beautiful village setting of Carate Urio which features pretty lakefront vistas and imposing Villas and lush gardens.
The village is ideally suited for those wanting a relaxed and wonderfully sedate base from which to explore the Lake at their leisure by car or by ferry. Carate Urio has all the conveniences guest would require whilst on holiday with the ferry landing, bank, crockery store, pharmacy, post office and a fine selection of restaurants and bars all with 5 minutes from the property.
The romantic and star studded village of Laglio which features a local grocery store, Bank, Pharmacy, Restaurants and the famous resident of George Clooney is situated just a 5 minutes' drive away and the cosmopolitan city of Como which offers a wide choice of boutique designer and high street shopping as well as Lake Como attractions such as Villa Olmo and the Duomo can be reached by picturesque lakeside roads in just 15 minutes!
The beautiful 'Golden Triangle' town of Menaggio which also provides a frequent car and passenger ferry service to Varenna and Bellagio is also located along the Western shore and can be reached in 30 minutes.

To make a confirmed booking, you will be asked to fill in our online booking form and pay a 30% deposit by wire transfer or credit card. The remaining holiday balance will then be due 6 weeks before arrival.
