One of two cosy, traditional style houses on the mountain side overlooking Lake Como. This larger house of the two, can be rented out individually. Otherwise if you have a larger group of friends & family, please see our other listing for (Property ID: 126).
Situated in a beautiful Nature Reserve with private access - approx 3km from the village of Plesio, which has a store for basic essentials & some 8km above Menaggio which provides all your needs.
This house sleeps up to 6 people in three bedrooms. There is a reverse level open plan living area with a cosy wood burning stove, a complete entertainment system (SAT TV, DVD/CD player with 5.1 surround sound), kitchen and dining area all on the first floor which takes full advantage of the spectacular lake & mountain views. On the ground floor there are two double bedrooms, a third bedroom with bunk beds and a bathroom with a shower.
To the side is an open terrace, ideal for 'al fresco' dining & access to the garden & pool.
Enjoy a BBQ grill in the big garden while swimming in the pool (7.5m x 4m) just at the back of the house.
The property gives access to a great number of scenic mountain walks with direct access to the Menaggio Rifugio, some 1.5hrs walk. Alternatively during the winter months there is also the option to travel to the various ski resorts: Madesimo & St Moritz, which are both approx 1.5hrs away.
Given the property's mountainside location, and being situated in a wooded nature reserve access is via a steep & winding track for approx 1 mile, the main part is tarmac & an unmade rocky section for the last section (approx 300m). It is advisable therefore to arrive during daylight hours to be able to fully familiarise yourself with the roadway- certainly not suitable for inexperienced drivers.
The small historic village of Plesio is 3 km away from the property and has a grocery shop, bar, tobacconist, newspaper shop, post office, bank (open only some days during the week), restaurants and pizzeria, beauty centre, hairdresser and bus stop. A small market every 15 days on Thursday morning.
Plesio sits 600m high above the beautiful waters of Lake Como in the Italian Alps and well known above all for it springwater "Chiarella" here bottled and for various mountain walks.
From this area, you can wander the mountains to find historical churches or hike on Mount Grona, or drive the 10 minutes down to Menaggio on the Lake, or on to Como, the city at the end of the main arm of the 2 pronged lake, 40 minutes by car. Beautiful Bellagio is a short ferry ride away across the water, and everywhere you look is scenery that has always bedazzled tourists. | |

Tea towels & beach towels are not supplied. If your booking is for more than one week, clean linen & towels will be provided on a weekly basis.

To make a confirmed booking, you will be asked to fill in our online booking form and pay a 30% deposit by wire transfer or credit card. The remaining holiday balance will then be due 6 weeks before arrival.
