Sun loungers are also provided for guests to relax and sunbathe on during the daytime. The residence is conveniently situated close to the main lake road of Via Regina and as such does experience some traffic noise from time to time and fortunately this noise has been minimised as much as possible with double glazed doors and windows throughout.
The historical lakefront centre of Gravedona can be reached in a matter of minutes by car and here guests can find supermarkets, high street shops, delicatessens and a wide choice of restaurants to enjoy. The cafe lined promenade provides a breathtaking place to enjoy a morning coffee or ice cream with the spectacular backdrop of lake and mountains! A local food market runs on the first and third Monday of every month and provides a fantastic range of delicious local produce. The ancient town is fascinating to explore with its medieval passageways, rustic townhouses and grand Spanish colonial style villas including Palazzo Gallio which is the communal seat of the local mountain towns and which is open to visitors for special events including the ‘Piano master Festival’.
Sport facilities are abundant in the town and include hiking routes, a sailing school, a lido with swimming pools and football pitches. A pedestrian cycle path leads to the charming lakefront town of Dongo where power boat hire services and a wide choice of cafes and restaurants can be experienced.
Skiing in Madesimo provides the perfect alternative day trip and just a 70 minutes drive away. The central lake also boasts a wide variety of activities including tennis, golf, horse riding, kayaking and swimming. Cultural excursions include Villa Carlotta, Villa Balbianello and the golden triangle resort towns of Menaggio, Bellagio and Varenna.
