Gravedona is a stunning north lake town with a fascinating historical centre to explore with medieval passageways lined with delicatessens and shops, a breathtaking lakefront promenade with cafes and restaurants and many amenities including supermarkets and a frequent bus service to the south of the lake. Each Gravedona plays host to gastronomic food festivals, boat races, firework displays and piano recitals at the Palazzo Gallio.
Many sport facilities can be enjoyed in the town including hiking, sailing school, football, swimming with a cycle path leading to the charming town of Dongo where power boats can be rented to see and explore the lake! The popular ski resort of Madesimo is situated just a 70 minutes drive away by car and makes for the ideal day trip with an English speaking Ski school and beginner to expert runs.
The central lake activities include swimming at the Lido di Menaggio, tennis, Golf at the prestigious Menaggio & Cadenabbia Golf Club, horse riding, kayaking, chartered yacht hire and a day at the extreme sports centre and the Jungle Raider Park above Bellagio.
Apart from exploring the fabulous Lake Como resort towns other cultural excursions include Villa Carlotta, Villa Balbianello, Villa Melzi, the stunning churches and ancient hillside sanctuaries and the city of Como and Lugano.
