Fiumelatte train station (which offers fast public transport to Milan and Varenna), can be accessed directly from the condominium.
The pretty and well established village of Fiumelatte claims its unique name from the distinctive frothy river which runs through the village and which is famous in Italy as the country’s shortest river! Fiumelatte serves local residents with a good and authentic Italian restaurant, a local bakery, a train service and other local amenities.
The beautiful resort town of Varenna can be reached easily in 10 minutes on foot. The ancient medieval town is a mix of different styles with the original medieval centre expanding out to open tree lined liberty style roads with period villas. The beautiful cobbled streets, pastel painted houses, flowering plants, lake view restaurants, boutique shops and romantic views of the Lake towards the western shore of Lake Como makes this a fascinating and very romantic place to explore. Local attractions include Queen Theodolinda’s ancient castle of Vezio and the botanical lakefront gardens at Villa Monastero and Villa Cipressi. There are also many great restaurants, wine bars and a lakeside Lido for you to try!
Varenna conveniently operates a car and passenger ferry service to the other ‘golden triangle’ resort towns of Bellagio and Menaggio.

I would like to thank all the Happyholiday team for the great job, we have had a wonderful holidays on the lake Como.
We were shot of time so we didn’t visit your office in Menaggio, but directions on how to find and enter the property were very clear and additional information, we received in advance, very helpful. During our stay we enjoy great views on the lake from the chosen apartments, which were very comfortable. Also we loved Varenna, so quiet and romantic and amazing villa Monastero. Also we visited Bellagio, Bergamo and Fox town). All our trips we enjoyed very much, especially by ferry to Bellagio!
There are a lot of things we want to see else, so we will visit this beautiful place again for sure! In addition can point that despite of the low season we have had a great time, but most of the villas were closed, so to explore the lake attractions it is better to come in April. About restaurants, very good pizzeria Albergo in the next village and restaurant Veccia in Varenna (if I remember the names right).
Also, we like apartment very much, but they have a common large terrace, so maybe it is better to come with people you know (privacy, calm etc:)) We haven’t any problems because apartments next door wasn’t occupied:)
As we are preparing to leave tomorrow, we wanted to write and thank you for a lovely week on Lake Como. The apartment was comfortable and charming and the terrace, with it's magnificent view, lived up to our expectations. We had a lovely time!
Many thanks for sorting our holiday for us. We had a fantastic time. The apartment more than lived up to expectations and the hot-tub was a nice addition.
Our visit to Bella Vita Due was very nice. The property has a magnificent view of the lake and was very well appointed. We were very comfortable there. Overall we were very pleased and very comfortable. The weather was perfect, the apartment was very nice, the view magnificent! Thank you, We had a wonderful trip.
Aug 2010 We were 100% pleased with the support and customer service we received from your team from the first moment we e-mailed to inquire of a rental to arrangements for car service and more. Every request was addressed, every question was answered. The willingness to help, whether it was programming the house mobile phone so we could call our six-year old back home to offering several GREAT alternatives to entertain us on the many rainy days, was absolutely appreciated and recognized as being quite unusual for a property rental team. Happy Holiday Homes represents their region of Lake Como and Italy with pride, professionalism and generosity of spirit. And while we would never recommend this, a traveler could arrive at their rental and figure out a fabulous vacation without ever having done any prior research...that's how efficient the staff is and the information they provide is. Again, we wouldn't recommend anyone skipping the research part...that's how "tourist" reputations are formed! We enjoyed a few of the recommended restaurants and participated in the Bernina Express/St. Moritz trip (excellent). So, despite our rainy weather, we enjoyed our stay, especially the evening we stayed in after buying the ingredients to pizzoccheri and a bottle wine, and enjoyed our meal out on the terrace, overlooking the lake with the quite sounds of other families...some local, some visiting...enjoying the same. We would encourage everyone to utilize Happy Holiday Homes for their vacation. HHH did an excellent job at providing us with all the information and support we needed to experience Lake Como and the delightful people who call it home. Thank you for having us. Fondly, Jolene & Matt, USA
