We stayed in Casa Juno in July 2011 in need of a 'getaway from it all' break after a very difficult and stressful year. Although we had stayed on Lake Como before, we had never ventured far from the more 'tourist' resorts so we were unsure what to expect and there seemed to be very little information for us about Gravedona. We were very pleasantly surprised. The town is very pretty, the lake and mountain views are absolutely breathtaking and our 'little house' was just like a 'liitle home'.
The owner had been more than accomodating to our needs (we had a one year old with us and she arranged for a cot and highchair to be there on our arrival) and the house was spotless and well stocked with all we needed. My 16 year old daughter and her friend spent lots of time around the shared pool area (usually they were the only ones there) whilst me, my husband and our baby went for some lovely walks along the lake front and into the town. We also found that the house was a good 'base' for exploring other parts of the Lake either via boat or in the car which we did every other day.
The house is over 4 floors with a lovely 'den' type living room at the top (with a good selection of dvds, board games and books), a master bedroom with seated balcony area (lovely to sit out with a glass of wine in the evening) and bathroom on the first level, ktichen/dining area on the ground and a further bedroom and bathroom in the basement. it doesn't have air conditioning which didn't matter to us at the time as although the weather was hot, the owner had provided numerous fans around the house which were very effective.
The owner had contacted us prior to our visit with very comprehensive map details and telling us that we would 'have a ball'. she was absolutely right, we didn't want to come home and we were very very grateful for all her help and kindness.
Aug 2010 We had a lovely holiday and really enjoyed our time in Italy. Overall we were very impressed with your service, you went out of your way to help us find somewhere to stay especially as we were quite late in booking, it was easy to book and pay, and you sent plenty of useful information in advance. When we did need to contact your office while in Italy the staff were very helpful. We stayed in two properties Casa Juno and Residence Eden 11 - from the original pictures online, I was more concerned about Casa Juno, however my concerns were groundless and the property was lovely and larger than expected. The plus points was that it felt like a family home, there were plenty of books, games, DVD’s which kept us entertained in the evening and there was the garden where we could have a BBQ. There was a good selection of leaflets about activities in the area. We had the swimming pool to ourselves most of the time. It was an easy walk to the shops and good areas to walk nearby. Other points to note is that the top floor got very hot so might be an idea to have a window that opens. It would be useful to have more very local information i.e. location of nearest supermarkets and opening times. Residence Eden - we liked this property but not as much as Casa Juno which offered the extra personal touches which we liked. All the best and thanks again for a lovely holiday. Hope to be back again next year. Regards, Ros, UK
